Cheap Chick Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 I just finished reading "Fargo Rock City" which is a great GREAT book about Hair bands - part cultural analysis, part rock writing and part personal memoir of a metal fan... it's just a really good rock read.I met the author, Chuck Klosterman, last month and bought the book... and if I, who really wasn't into any of those bands, found it entertaining and enlightening, I'm sure for you hair band guys it will blow your minds.Has anyone else read this book? What did you think?
BLuesBuster Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 "Fargo Rock City""?!? Really? Somehow Fargo and Rock City dont go well together for me. My p'roblem is that I've been to Fargo. In the 80's, I've never really been into hair metal. I was listening to jazz, 60's & 70's heavy rock. In the 90's, during the awfull curse of the grunge, I realized how musical and talented those 80's guys really were. I'll give that book a chance.

Scottcrud Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 The Sabbath books sounds more up my alley, I hate/hated hair metal.
wyldbil Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 Read "Fargo" when it first hit the shelves. (I work in a bookstore, remember...?)Interesting book. "The Dirt" from Motley Crue was a good read as well.
