What kind of wood is this #2

This is a Favilla imported Aquila guitar made around 1969-70.

It was made by Rokkoman just before they were bought by Takamine.

The top has the early fan bracing, and it seems to be bound together with glue and tightly wrapped string.

I'm trying to determine if the top is Sitka Spruce.

Im also trying to determine the type of Rosewood back and sides.

Pictures next.

Edited to note that I contacted Tom Favilla who originally imported these, and he confirmed it being from 1967 and that the guitars were imported from 1967-1973.

It's certainly plausible that it's Sitka.  The coloring and grain are consistent with my two Sitka-topped Taylors.  Englemann is a lot more pale in my experience.

That said, I haven't owned a spruce-topped guitar for long enough that it would have yellowed, etc. so I'm not sure how they react over time.

I took the pictures in the evening sun, so that may be why it looks more yellow.

The top looks less yellow in the noon day sun.

When it comes to Sitka vs. other types of spruce I have no clue.

So, what, exactly is "mature tone"?

Maybe less bright and more woody, with complex overtones, rich with a mocha highlights followed by fruity finish.

oh wait, that's an expensive beer, wine or coffee.

Nnevvermynd.
