Maybe it's just me, but the shape reminds me a little of an old Jaguar D-or E-type hardtop.

Definitely the 1960's XKE with its funny looking hardtop bubble.

I'm sorry, there is no comparison to a 60's era Jag XKE Coupe:

Maybe you meant an XKE with hardtop??  Once again, no comparison!

The XKE was one of the most beautiful cars ever made and an example resides in the Museum of Modern Art.

Yes the black XKE coupe.

The sneaker reminds me of that, meaning certain styling cues were taken from the coupe.

I didn't say they were in the same class.

I had an uncle who had an XKE in the mid '60's.

It was in the shop a lot (electrical and fuel injection problems), but he would never sell it.

Some cars are worth it.

For me, I prefer the the XKE w/hardtop.

+1, exactly.  That's what I was getting at when I said that it reminds me of that.  NOT 'the same' as that, NOT 'just like' that, but the body lines/shape reminds me of that.  I wouldn't and couldn't confuse a modern-day Mini with a vintage Mini, but it'd remind me of one, y'know?

Or the Fiat 500 vs. the old Fiat 500
