First thing, BobP great post. :rolleyes:

2nd thing, yes I know I can turn off avatars, navigate around the home page, etc. (Done and done BTW.) But, if 9 out of 10 of you have cool avatars I'd like to have seen, or 9 out of 10 of you have harmless photos of selves/ guitars that would have made the place more familiar and fun, I lose. Not much, granted, but I lose.

3rd thing, re judgement calls, we all make em and we hope when we do that we are well-informed. For instance, a judgement call tells me its OK to occasionally check out a guitar forum at work. Another judgement call tells me to NEVER peruse girly photos at work. Question that arises: am I properly informed that this is a guitar forum?

4th thing, its not really all that important in the grand scheme, sometimes you just want to type something. If I wind up with too many breasts in my cookie jar I'll just find some other light reading...

We wanna be free! We wanna be free to do what we wanna do. We wanna be free to ride. We wanna be free to ride our machines without being hassled by The Man! ... And we wanna get loaded. And we wanna have a good time. And that's what we are gonna do. We are gonna have a good time... We are gonna have a party.

right on albert!!

Primal Scream also uses it as a sample

on their epic album SCREAMADELICA

which got a whole generation of European

kids high on E in the early 90's.

peter fonda ,bruce dern ,nancy sinatra , how can you go wrong?

alberts right.

i've been on a "new hollywood" kick, watching movies from that mid 60's to late 70's NH era. watched "wild angels" a few weeks ago, along w/ "the trip" (fonda, dern, hopper). the NH era is all about "un-hollywood" type movies; unhappy endings, slice of life kinda stuff.

faves so far have been;

last picture show, mean streets, & easy rider.

i didn't like a few i've seen so far;

the trip, last tango in paris.

that's Adalbert to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The trip is an acquired taste. thing about the era and the subject matter and it sort of all puts it in perspective.

check out "Wild in the Streets"

There's a mid-'70s Peter Fonda flick called "Race With the Devil" that came out a bit past his prime but it has a genuinely creepy Satanism element to it. A pretty good "normal person crosses paths with psychopath" thriller along the lines of "Deliverance," "Duel" and "Breakdown."

yeah, the trip just seemed stiff and dated, ymmv.

i'll look for wild in the streets.

a great book that got me interested in the new hollywood era is

"Easy Riders, Raging Bulls: How the Sex-Drugs-and-Rock 'N' Roll Generation Saved Hollywood".

i made a list of movies from the book and entered them in my netflix list.
