savethematches Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 I've got a Crybaby wah in excellent condition that's just sitting on a shelf. I'd be interested in a swap for a similar value amp modeler. I've used a Digitech RP100 before and liked it, so anything similar to that would work. I want something small that can produce a good hotrod Marshall tone. Anybody interested?
tomteriffic Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 Marty, I don't have one to swap you, but keep an eye out for a Johnson J-Station. You can probably scare one up stupid cheap. If you add the right breakout cable to your Soundblaster to get a MIDI I/O, there's some downloadable software at DOD that will allow you to edit it on the computer, which expands it's power immensely.
Lockbody Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 Dude, you just missed mine.Anyhoo, when I showing the guy who bought mine around it, I got an instant case of seller's remorse as the preamp models on the "J" sound so damn good. That said, "hot rod" Marshall was probably the "J's" weakest tone. And you can still go to Johnson-Amp.com for downloads, patches, heck, even the forum is still active.
killertone Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 I have a J-Station and like it as well. The Marshall model isn't that great but there are other amp models that do the Marshall thing well. Hope you find one...
savethematches Posted January 23, 2006 Author Posted January 23, 2006 Thanks for the input guys. I'll keep my eyes open. As usual, I'm strapped for cash, so I'll see if any come up for trade.
