Hamer-like pots

Question

Posted

I have a Reverend guitar with a couple of scratchy pots.  I’d like to replace them with pots as close as possible to those in my Hamer USA guitars (Studio Custom and Monaco III).  Love the 9-10 boost and high torque resistance to turning.  (Can’t stand no-resistance pots).  I have heard Bourns pots are a good replacement.  Is this link their closest to Hamer pots?

https://www.bourns.com/docs/product-datasheets/PDB181-GTR.pdf

Thanks.

I have been told that Mojo pots are really close to Hamer specs....disclaimer is that I haven’t tried them personally.

I’ll look into the Mojotones also.

I did see the Hamer pots.  They are a bit pricey for this guitar.  I need 4 of them.

I have not tried Deoxit.

Usually that's all you'll need to clean up scratchy pots 95% of the time... it's definitely cheaper and less labor intensive then replacing new pots... it's definitely nice to have a can around for other guitars and or amps
