SirDouglas Posted February 15, 2006 Author Posted February 15, 2006 uuhhhhhhhhh...i dont know shit about EMGs except that i dont like them... theyve all come out of Hamer Basses... the right 2 from a 91 chap bass the middle ones from a 90 12 string bass the lefts ones from a 91 b12a bass thats all i know... I dont modify unless i have to... usually only the pots need to be replaced and then i use 500k Dimarzio or Gibsons... which ever one is available at the time.. I have 2 X2Ns coming for the gold top... and 3 Gold Skull knobs for it... sad they took a chunka wood out for a damn battery box... but not my design so im not going to complain.. i will be using it on the Marde Gras(i spelled that wrong) gig so ill post pics of it when its over(28th)... im still debating on putting creme X2Ns in it instead of black. The reason i use these pick ups is simple(explanation time...) output output output ..... i want the large tone i can git and i dial the rest in on my Ampegs and having ported cabs makes this even easier... I LOVE RUMBLE!!!!!!!... and i cnat git that sound from ANY EMG... everyone ive tired has been super high.. bass is supposed to be low... (this is mho though so ).. ill post some mp3s using both the redmetalflake chap and the B12s this week and let a see how i use my sound... the EMGs are sold pending payment.... Randy
