  1. >I'm still trying to figure out where the circuit board was made. The green (with solder-mask) and tan (no solder-mask) boards both look to be made by EMG. They are known for being helpful so I would give them a call to find out more.
  2. It's a very strange sensation, I have the MXR one and have a hard time not laughing while using it.
  3. I discovered him during his shred are and love that stuff - his blues albums don't do it for me. Not a crack on Gary - I am not really a fan of any straight ahead blues album's.
  4. Always nice to hear that there are still companies out there that go above and beyond to take care of their customers!
  5. Wow - looks great, especially the wiring pic!
  6. Nice! Just saw them Wednesday night - excellent show as always.
  7. Amazing player - his work is an important part of my favorite Al Di Meola records!
  8. I'm liking these! What's the reason for drawing the control cavity (I assume) on the top?
  9. Glad to see somebody here got that one. When it popped up on ebay I knew I would be left in the dust when the bidding was over. That and the first run of Shiskov's are two times when I really wish I had started a reserve guitar fund for emergencies like this. Sometimes I just have to step back and count myself lucky for having the ones I do have, especially my yellow lefty Chap Sustainer which is already pretty much my dream guitar. Not that I won't still be jonesing over that Vintage-S and your Red Cali! :-)
  10. The humbuckers and single coils didn't always match shade even when new and they all seem to fade. These look a little faded but a lot of them are far worse.
  11. Price is a bit high but in my very non-expert opinion a few things warrant it: It seems to be a bigger problem on the pink and yellow ones but a lot of them look washed out by now, both the paint and the pickups. This one must not have seen much UV because it looks good and bright plus the paint looks to be pretty ding free - at least as much as you can tell from crappy CL pics. Fretboard is clean And most important of all it still has the trem hand rest plate. BTW: I have lusted for a desert yellow JEM since I saw the first add. Another time when it's very frustrating to be left handed.
  12. A work of art (in more than one way)!
  13. Also there are supposedly a lot of EPA type hurdles to opening a tube factory and that has killed off attempts to open a US based tube factory. There was a time when that would have probably just meant that somebody would open a factory in Mexico where you could avoid EPA concerns but I think the NAFTA agreement put an end to that.
  14. Wow! I love how the binding hasn't yellowed, must not have been around much smoke or sunlight over the years.
  15. Its all in that "seymopur Duncan pickup"! :-)
  16. >Bass sounds great on this, as well! +1
  17. Copper is such a cool color - those pictures really don't capture it and make it look like some sort of blah peachy color.
  18. How about Yellow?
  19. Was is ever in the back of a Mustang?
  20. Nice work - always great to see a guitar fixed and put back in action.
  21. Looks like two awesome axes! I too find the Blue one extra cool. The picture of the 99 has a shadow that made me do a double take because it looked like tip of the headstock was missing. :-)
  22. Very cool. I wonder why they didn't add the sparkle to the back of most of the neck? How well does the sustainer work? How does it sound as a neck pickup?
