What are You Using for Stands?

Decided to get a guitar (or two) out and play a bit.  I also pulled the Hercules stands out from under the bed and YUCK!  The hard plastic parts have degraded or something - they're are all sticky and on a couple of them the springy part that allows for height adjustment just snapped off on first use.

Anyway, not looking for the pricey furniture-looking stands with booteek 'tone woods' or anything.  Something along the lines of what the Hercules stands used to be would be great.

Any by the way, the Kiz Senior is still 'real and spectacular!'

I bought a couple from El Duave around ten or twelve years ago and someone gave me another the following Christmas.  I thought they were great as they could adjust for guitar or bass and had a really positive lock on the headstock.  They haven't been out of the house or abused or subjected to any weird chemicals...  If no one else is having the problem, maybe I just need to pitch these and buy a few more.

@Mathman that stand looks great, but wouldn't fit the 'decor.'  Maybe when my son and wife move off to college in a couple of years... (I'm convinced she'll be moving to college with him!).

Well, mostly NOT playing guitar.  I've been lurking, but really had nothing constructive to add.

My son decided to start playing a bit and then a friend of his who plays piano decided he'd get a guitar for Christmas (last year).  I wound up giving that guitar a setup (a very inexpensive Yamaha electric that was, especially for the money, very playable).

That episode led me to getting The Senior out from under the bed.  One thing led to another and I found myself resurrecting a partscaster project I'd put in a case years ago.

The last shot I'd call a "breadboard" stage, as a proof-of-concept.  The superswitch allowed me to have the typical Strat pickup choices except neck/bridge in the middle position.  I also (even though I've had terrible experiences with treble bleed circuits in the past) bought the TV Jones treble bleed volume control.  It actually works very well (they know their pickups).  The pickups are Classic Neck / Classic Bridge / Classic Plus Bridge - they seem very well balanced and sound great.

I've since torn it completely apart, wired it more permanently and reassembled the body.  I hope to get the rest of it back together this weekend.  Paint will have to wait until the spring.

At home, I lean them against the furniture.  Keep them in the cases otherwise.

I used to lean them against the amps (when that was plural).  We finally got rid of all the carpet (and, incidentally, sinus infections!) a few years ago and that stopped that.

Cool.  I'm contemplating some TV Jones for a guitar I have that sounds like shit with the current configuration.  It has a Floyd!!!

Let me know if you need a routing template. Glad to mail it down to you. I used the StewMac router bit and it turned out very nice.

I have both the 3-guitar version and the 6-guitar version. They're made by Gator.  I don't need the 3-guitar version anymore, so it'll be listed in the "For Sale" section soon..
