Steve:

Not trying to hijack your thread, but your pic came up on the front page w/the Cali.

HOLY CRAP that's cool. I knew of one sustain block two single coil Cali in red sparkle like that that was owned by a Nashville session guy, but I thought that it had a set neck w/matching head.

DAMN-that is probably the neatest Cali I've ever seen.

Combine that with the fact that he was born on 4/20 and this guy could be the HFC's coolest member.

Hey Serial: You are right. This was owned by no other then Fred Newell. Fred Is a Friend And I Bought this from him some years back. it is a set neck and has Led's. This is My number 1 guitar. I had this back at the factory a few years back And I think there is only 2 simillar. Mine and Kims natural one. I have had Many offers to sell or trade this one. It was originally built for fred when he was music host on the network show Nashville Now. He would play a custom built guitar every show. Let me tell you. Some companys made some outrageous guitar for him. Fred also had 1 hell of a guitar collection. fred now plays steel string guitar in the grand ole orpry. and sold most of his collection off. PS. As for my birthday 4/20 it sometimes sucks, its also Hiltlers birthday and something always bad happens on this day. Oaklohoma bombing, David Koresh Fire, that school shooting. Alway's something to read in the paper that day. Steve.

That's the one. I corresponded w/Fred about that one for a while and he sent me pics. Taxman put the bite on my ability to make him anything approaching a legitimate offer, but that IS the coolest Cali I've ever seen. I'm extremely glad that it is in the hands of an HFCer.

Thanks for the details!

And Oklahoma City and Waco occurred on the 19th of April, not the 20th. Columbine occured on the 20th to celebrate the birth of the Führer. Ironically, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were the opposite of Hitler's ideal soldier, their counter culture behaviors and apperance would have not impressed him.

All the more reason to spark up and forget all about the bad stuff!
