Diablo - Need a piece of advice on price

Hi Folks,

I'm asking for some help to figure out the price)

So, I'm from Ukraine and I have found a guy who is selling the 93 Diablo (USA). He is asking almost 3000$ for it (2850$). It was refretted, but it seemed to be accurate job. Guitar has Schaller Floyd Rose and Seymour Duncans, I'm not thinking these are original. Anyway it is still in mint/good condition according to photo (guitar is in another city).

I've done a quick research, and 3k seems to be a bit crazy price, but I may be wrong.

What would be your advice on the fair price for such instrument?

Thanks in advance.

You are posting in the wrong spot, but anyway,  a Schaller Floyd Rose and  Seymour Duncan JBs are the proper tremolo and pickups for that guitar.

The tremolo should say "Hamer" on the left hand side where "Schaller" would normally be inscribed (Hamer had a contract with Schaller for the tuners and Tremolos)

The pickups you would have to take out to inspect the wiring and look at the pickups themselves to be sure they are Seymour Duncans.  Seymour Duncans were used in Diablos until the Diablo 2 came out, then Dimarzio's became the factory pickup.

I have no idea what Diablos go for in EU, but in USA they go from $600 to $1300 based on pedigree and condition.

Yeah, 3K is WAY ambitious. A clean, original Diablo with OHSC might command $ 900- $1,200.  Upgrades and repair work do NOT necessarily mean it will recover those mods/repair costs.

Yeah, I thought repairs/mods made things "player grade"?

It depends on the buyer, and it depends on the mods.

I let an Aztec Gold Diablo slip away that had been refretted with stainless steel frets, and the pickups switched to Dimarzio 36th Anniv with a push-pull coil split.

THAT made the guitar much more valuable to me.  And to others, as well.  The guy I sold it to won't sell it back to me!!

I think I owned that one. Nice guitar indeed but I moved it along as well.
