WTB: Mirage II or Newport Pro

Hey, folks. I'm getting back into more funk/rock/gospel these days and looking to pick up a Mirage (with humbuckers or possibly P90s) to keep handy in Eb while my Artist Custom (presently the only electric I own) stays in standard. There are a few of them up on Reverb now, though the asking prices are higher than others on this forum lead me to believe is the going rate. Anybody have one they'd be willing to part with? (I'd also be very tempted by a Newport Pro in natural finish.)

Actually, the Mirage never came with P90 pickups. The one you may have seen was a mod installation. Although, you can possibly pick up a set of single coil size P90's and install without any routing to the body, which is what I plan to do someday for my Mirage 1. Other mods were to route out the bridge pickup for a full size humbucker. There was also a mod install for the Mirage 2, where someone installed a single coil PU in between the humbuckers. Personally, I wouldn't put a router to a guitar unless it was a beater or a DIY build.  Seems like there's more Mirage 2's in the market than the Mirage 1.  Then again, If you're going to the P90 side, you can also pick up some P90 size humbuckers. Either way, there are options without routing the body out.  Anyway, Happy Hunting !

Awesome!  Mirages are killer guitars and I really believe they are one of Hamer’s most underrated models.
