Missed all u guys! I was in turtle mode today. Got here around 12:45. Saw a nice PRS McCarty 594 SE, tobacco burst. Asked the guy what he wanted, looks at his watch and says "At this hour, probably go $525", but he didn't take any debit/credit cards. I could have swore I heard $525. Looked around the lobby for an ATM. Came back and told him I could squeeze out some cash from the ATM in the lobby. He says "What did I quote you?" I told him $525. He says "Nah, if I said that it would have been gone". My guess is when I came back, some young buck was drooling over it. "OOOOH. I want this!" What a CHOOCH!! So, drowning my missed opportunity at the bar. 😡

Just crawled out of bed. I live 5 miles from Indiana border. Will be on my way ASAP. At my age, it'll be a while 😜

Great video. I'm working on a '54' style Strat build. Picked up a Sassafras body, an Ed O'Brian Fender neck that has the 10/56 soft V profile, Alnico 3 pickups and 100k pots. A video I saw here once with 2 '54's in a shoot out had me do a deep search and found out that the early '54' models used the 100k pots. I opted for a Super Vee trem though with Highwood saddles instead of a Fender trem. Hoping it'll sound as good as the video here.

The C&W players are the fastest and most precise players I've heard growing up. As a kid, I'd be glued to the tube watching those fast fingers of Roy Clark on the Hee-Haw tv show.

This is very, very tempting.

I've always lusted for that thick Les Paul sound, but the neck heel makes it hard to reach the upper frets. So I instead opted for a McInturff Carolina. But don't know anyone that has an LP to compare it to. Here's the Carolina in the middle.

Y'know, I've had that high E problem on one of my guitars. Can't remember which one or how it got fixed. Different brand strings? Thicker callous on my finger tips? Finger exerciser doohicky? I think my Senior Moments are kickin' in, can't remember. Anyway, sorry to hear that Centaura didn't work out for you. BUT, I truly believe one will come along and melt in your hands like butter!!!

Was the neck slimmer than your other guitars? Was the nut width smaller? Tried a Floyd style bridge before? Maybe that's why it just didn't "feel" right in your hands. For ME, the extra metal and slim necks just feel weird. Maybe I'm just too Old School.
