Bennyboy-UK Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 Check this out... @GrappaGreen shot me a link to this thing: https://reverb.com/uk/item/54895500-hamer-7-string-guitar-extremely-rare-for-a-collector I did an immediate involuntary shit due to simultaneously laughing and grimacing so hard. The description is also amazing.
Steve Haynie Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 The price is up there for a Korean guitar. Hmmm... rarity... Korean...
1 bottlerocket Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 Hmmm...no serial number, very little information about it, made in Korea.🤣
GrappaGreen Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 I'm no expert, but even I had to get some screen cleaner to wipe the tea of my laptop as I burst out laughing...
Steve Haynie Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 There were some samples provided by Asian manufacturers as prototypes for a lot of guitar brands. There would be no need for a serial number. Someone got lucky with the Hamer 7 string. That part is cool.
nologantogive Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 I picked it up and it plays great! I talked to a guy that works at KMC and said it looks like it meets all their specs for what was being produced out of Korea. He said it could've been used as a prototype model, but he didn't have any way of confirming it. I wish they had made them!
incurso Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 It's legit. Looks like they had few made in Korean factory Dunno why everyone is laughing. It's really rare

Can you ask that guy what kinds of wood they used on most slammer series hamers? Was it maple?

You've got the gloss black one! That thing is pretty awesome. I'll give him a shout and see if he happens to remember. He's been with KMC for over 15 years, so he might know.

It would've been a long shot of he could've found out. It's probably maple or something along the lines. Mine was made around 2005 or so? I'm really not too sure. I've been looking for more info on these, but I haven't been able to find anything on them.

The description is also amazing. I see that the ad was heavily (HEAVILY) edited, actually looks like it was entirely re-written, before it sold.
