  1. I’ve played a lot of those pickups and there are a lot of great tones in there. Looking real hard at the Rolphs.
  2. I would have to read the TQR article again for the details but going on memory I believe you are correct. I think it was connected to the 2007 storage unit thefts.
  3. I remember an article about one of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s amplifiers turning up in a storage container. It was later covered by ToneQuest Magazine, who got a chance to test it. Their takeaway was interesting—it didn’t sound particularly great on its own, but it made a lot more sense in a live mix.
  4. Wish I was in the market for an amp right now. This is a great price and amp.
  5. Yes. When that guitar is shipped from Japan into your country, it is treated as an import and you will almost certainly pay import charges, even though it was originally made in the U.S. What matters is where it is shipping from and where it is shipping to — not where it was built.
  6. No affiliation:USA Hamer Special It looks like an okay deal on a quilt top, but they do not actually show the serial number stamp in the head stock, and it appears the frets are nearing the end of their life.
  7. Loving all those guitars! Wish I could take everyone!!!
  8. I haven’t ever seen one of those on the market. Good luck!
  9. Dream guitar for me. Going into scramble mode.
  10. Have you tried a TC Electronic Sub n Up Mini? Cheap as chips and they sound pretty awesome. If you want all analog look at the Boss OC or MXR Sub Machine.
  11. Looks pretty cool in concept. I have a originals of nearly all these, but I find for the Spectrum to sound decent it needs to be run in tandem with another pedal to sound decent, and it is very limited in application. I think that pedal is more of a collector's item than something wildly usable.
  12. I guess the guitar stops on a dime but can’t break into a solo.
  13. The entire pickguard is covered in residue. When I peeled off the protective film, it left the adhesive behind. The original owner left everything just as it came from the factory.
  14. Thanks for the replies. Just got back form a gig so getting ready to turn in for the night, Have fun and I will let you all know how the WD40 works out.
  15. Thanks for all the replies. I will go ahead and try the WD40 next. It sounds like a good way to go.
  16. Doesn't lighter fluid have solvents that will damage plastic?
  17. Thanks for the tip. Okay, will try the WD40. Not to worry, I never planned on using any harsh solvents.
  18. Hey all, I’ve got a technical question. I picked up a Korina Jr., and the previous owner kept it as original as possible—including leaving the factory protective film on the pickguard. When I peeled it off, it left behind some nasty glue residue on the faux tortoiseshell pickguard. I’ve tried warm water, soap, and a mild plastic cleaner, but no luck so far. I haven’t used anything stronger because I don’t want to risk damaging the pickguard. I do have some acetone on hand, but I’m steering clear of harsh solvents unless absolutely necessary. Does anyone have a safe and effective method for removing the residue without harming the pickguard? Thanks in advance!
  19. Didn’t pick up on that. I was temporarily lost in the gaze of the guitar. Good catch.
