Update… Jol confirmed it's a 1981 and sent me the page that it was listed on. I dug a very early PAF and a very early Duncan 59 and a mid 80s gold Floyd out of the parts piles and put this thing together. New CTS pots. Right now there is a mishmash of tuning machines on the headstock but I have a brand new set I'm about to put on. I decided that I'm not gonna restore it but play it like this because it's awesome. I have this friend named Phil that reached out to me that wants to borrow it for a tour… So if you get Bon Jovi tickets you'll see this guitar. As of right now… It is not for sale. It's way too much fun.

The headstock has been repaired. It seems to be very solid.

0457 this is just a quick mock up… The guitar was routed for a Floyd and all of the original parts are gone. It has a previous headstock repair. I thought about going through the effort of restoring it and decided that it will be more fun to just play it. So I dug an old gold Floyd out of the parts bin and I will put it together to be a stage guitar at some point… I am way too busy with customer guitars to mess with my own shit right now. It's pretty damn cool though…

When it gets here.

I just bought a 4 digit Standard. The pots and pickups are not original. What year would a mid 04xx guitar be?

Arthritis: nicotine as an anti inflammitory
UncleGreg replied to Jimbilly's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I have Ankylosing Spondylitis(like Mick Mars), and concentrated tart cherry juice is an amazing anti inflammatory that that doesn't suck. A couple shots a day, poured over vanilla ice cream, added to smoothies...lots of ways to use it and it WORKS. -

When I had my shop, I had a long and fruitful relationship with those guys. I helped them set up their custom shop. They even let me shoot video of Leo's office…

That was the same one. A guy that worked for me named Shane Huss ended up with the guitar now that I think about it. He re-sprayed the guitar in Pelham blue and then I believe he got rid of it

I had gotten an old checkerboard special that somebody had cut the body down to a coffin shape. I use the parts for other guitars and just hung the wood up on the wall for something to laugh at. I somehow ended up with a 1967 SG without a neck. The idea was born and way too damn much Work was involved in mating the Hamer neck to the SG body. But the end result was pretty cool. I have no idea where that guitar ended up.

That Bass was an absolute monster. -
That was the last guitar that Herc Fede did before his untimely passing from a heart attack.

That is actually a God finish. I just sprayed multiple thin layers of clear nitro over the beauty that He provided for us.

Nope. That pickup was out of my black Gibson Explorer that I got from a punk guy. -
brass nut, any special treatment/maintenance?
UncleGreg replied to Jimbilly's question in Ask the HFC Experts
1000 grit paper folded in half. Once cleaned, apply chapstick to avoid corrosion and lube the string in the slot.
