  1. Super condition, a small pencil eraser size nick on one of the edges. No buckle rash and frets are in good shape. The active mid-boost has just been repaired and all the electronics are stock and working. The pic shows a EVH d-tuna that will not be included in the sale. Why am I selling???? My music days are basically over so I'm scaling back. This is a super piece and I hate to let it go... I will consider trades. $485.00 shipped is the best trade I can imagine though. If you are on the west coast cut me a little slack on shipping however.... Thanks. I'll try and get a few more pics out later.
  2. 3 amps, 9 guitars....... = too many for me... I just don't know what to sell.
  3. Boy I hear ya'. My last band of 8 yrs. finally ended and I thought "This is it, I'm done" I've mellowed out and am just looking for the right thing to pop up.... Just relax and let it come to you, something will turn up.. Every band was my last and that's been for the last 15 years...
  4. My wifeiis generally pretty supportive. I've been going through the "it's time to quit cycle" since my last band of eight years came to an end. She keeps encouraging me to call my old music friends and got my some small music things for Christmas. She always tells me I'm a better player than I give myself credit for. I'm lucky to have her.
  5. Green 81' Special that BadgerDave ended up with. I got it on trade for a G&L ASAT that I couldn't get along with. Probably one of the better guitars I've owned, one of the few "I wish I had it back guitars".
  6. I've spent a fortune over the years for what IMO has been minimal results. Can I hear the difference??? yes, but not enough to justify the expense and time. I found I waste too much of the little time I have looking for the "tone" vs. playing. For me if the guitar doesn't have the sound I'm looking for stock it it won't have it with new pickups either. I do replace for defective pickups or microphonics that can't be eliminated. I have a LP Special that someone swapped out the bridge P-100 for Fralin and but put a Duncan Custom in the neck. I swapped the Custom for a vintage P-90 in order to get the balance right. These are the only cicumstances I do swaps for anymore
  7. GoJo, gets nasty things like motor oil and grease off your hands... smells good too.
  8. I'm also a early member and there still is a bunch of us around. Keep in mind that Hamer has been very supportive of this board during some pretty ugly times. I'm sure many of you remember some of the big flame wars that went on which had to be pretty embarassing for Hamer. They give us a great product and service is all we can really expect afterall they are running a business, everything else is gravy.
  9. Noise???? It's part of the charm for me. When I want something more Hi-Fi sounding I'll reach for something else. I would suggest if you are having to much noise with the Hamers is to swap out the ultra hot P90's they use and go to a more traditional voiced set, not a big improvement but at least you don't have a lot of output kicking your noise out there. I've never heard a noiseless version that comes close.
  10. Brighter than a JB? My FM is some what flat sounding with the JB that's in it. I'm not a big pickup swapper but I am considering trying something differnet.
  11. Mine's currently an SG
  12. I used to use the GE-7 E.Q for that same thing, works reasonably well. BTW your Artist sounded good out front, your boost was the only thing I didn't really hear consistantly. The tone with the buckers was very "MESA".. much better than average however, but that Mesa signature tone.
