  1. I love mine and Rob is great to work with. The features and tones are just great in my opinion. I didn't get the reverb or the tremolo. I just wanted some sweet Voxish tones and they are there. The cut knob works great. The half power switch is super cool. The ef86 option is also worth the 75 bucks in my opinion. Oh yeah, the wait on mine was about 4 and a half months.. but he told me it would be five to six, so it was cool. I'm very happy with my purchase.
  2. For the album my band is recording in July, I really simplified the guitar parts and worked on not overplaying. I write or wrote most of the songs and then get input from the band. I'm trying to leave plenty of space for the other instruments. The songs are very poprock and I'm keeping the arrangements simple and to the point. We'll pick some parts to jam on live, but for the cd we are just keeping the hooks going with a few nice and simple solos thrown in where they fit. I'm going to be doing a lot more background vocals and a few lead vocal parts live, so the easier to play guitar parts are going to help. I'm very, very excited and ready. In my not as humble as usual opinion, I think it's going to turn out great. rock bford
  3. I have been playing a lot of the Cars in the home lately and my 8 year old son is loving them. I knew he had good taste. rock bford
  4. Well I love that Photo.... I have King's X first five cd's through Dogman. I also have one of their newer ones, Black Like Sunday. Great, great band. I have several U2 albums and cd's. Finally I have all 5 Fountains of Wayne releases. Fountains of wayne, Utopia Parkway, Welcome Interstate Managers, Out of State Plates and finally Traffic and Weather. I really love that band. rock bford
  5. I thought it was because of all the corpses he has sealed in the foundation of his house. I thought it was because he was one of a series. Yes, he is one of a series of cereal loving serial killers. I believe number 3 to be exact. Also the only one to collect Hamer guitars!
  6. It's no clever accident that one of them is called "Serial." I always thought he called himself "Serial" because it was his hip hop way to say he loves Captain Crunch! Truthfully, I love Hamer guitars. Believe me now or believe me later, but anytime I've had a question here, I've asked and been given the correct information or helpful information. You have a cool guitar and that's a cool thing. There just aren't many import guitars that hold that type of value. If it's worth more to you than the monetary value of selling it, then just keep it and enjoy it. rock bford
  7. I prefer Grosh's and Andersons over them..... I prefer my Robin Wrangler to the Suhr tele style I played also. but they are very good guitars. Many people love them much, long time. bford
  8. I always thought Living Colour doing Cult of Personality was pretty cool....
  9. Twisted Sister was on Leno the other night playing a song off of their Christmas album.... it was not real good to say the least... bford
  10. Congrats! That cake looked pretty tasty.... sweet, a cool wife, cool inlaws, a house, suburban and a Les Paul.... this might be the marriage of the year! rock bford
  11. I never had a 100 watt head or amp.....did have a couple of 50 watters in the past. Now I use a Budda SD30 Series 1 head with a 2x12 cab. It's been plenty loud for every show I've ever played. Of course we are usually mic'd up, so I usually only run it about half up anyway. Last show we played, at a little bar in College Station, I used a Trace Elliot Velocette 1x10 15watts. It sounded great and I didn't come close to cranking it either. I love that little amp. I know it could use a new speaker and I may throw some better iron in there someday, but still it's simplicity is very nice. Oh and I'm on the waitlist for a Hayseed 30. I had the chance to play one in Austin recently and just loved it. It's not a Vox, but it's at least a first cousin....very nice... mine should be ready in March or April. I hate waiting...but I'll make it. rock bford
