Recently, I came across 2 new options in the ongoing struggle to sell gear without getting bent over on fees (ahem- Reverb, eBay) Haven't had luck on either but I'm attributing that to the sizable price tags of the high end instruments I'm trying to move and the shitty state of the economy at the moment. Let's be honest, it's a bad time to be selling high end gear unless you're giving it away. :P

My experience with https://www.stringtree.co/   was so-so; a mix of pretentious auctions and standard listings. They do make an effort to present your items in a more dignified manner. They edit your photos (cropping, removing background and adding other Photoshop accents like drop shadows, etc.)  and add a bit of flowery BS verbiage in the descriptions that would make the copywriters at Sweetwater and Guitar Center envious. In the end, the guitar I had up was asking too much and it didn't command anywhere near the minimum for bids so it's relegated to just sitting in the site. Someone would need to go on there specifically looking for it in order for it to move. Meh.

https://www.resyn.com/ is pretty straight forward. Same essential approach as Reverb in terms of listing and it has an offer option (like Reverb) but it seems little less costly with BS fees. They market themselves as, "A trusted space to buy, sell, and trade gear with no commission fees." I now have a few axes up there. A follow up report will be posted if they sell.

There was a thread about Resyn posted here.  I replied to it, but to update: search now seems to work better but I still can't get to Hamer95USA's listings.  His page never loads for me.

Any info on Bucket List Guitars? Never been there but I get ads from them lately.

Sell - Bucket List Guitars

I was just on there but didn't find it to be very convenient - every guitar I input had no previous listing & thus, no record. Which means you have to email them with your make/model and they will appraise it and give you a quote via email?

Interesting approach. Not very effective at the moment.

Interesting. I got this from Matt re: my double neck Cali. 🤨🤔

Hey Jim,

Very cool guitar! Unfortunately, I would have to pass on this one just because of its rarity. I don't know enough about them to accurately price it, there are not enough sold listings from the past to draw a conclusion on its value.

I think you'll have better luck in a local market, or perhaps a consignment at a nearby guitar store.

Thanks for reaching out!
