Floyd’s are easy as f*** to setup. You just have to learn how to do it. If you’re too lazy to learn how to, 2 things. 1. don’t buy one and 2. stop saying Floyd’s are garbage…

Floyd guitars still sound like shit. No matter how well you set them up. 😄

The radius mismatch has always been a problem with Floyds. My Edwards Random Star has a 10” radius fingerboard with the best OFR set up of any factory guitar I’ve owned.

Joe Glaser is a legend in the world of luthiery, but I don’t see the wisdom in doing a permanent mod on the locking nut like that. Floyd Rose is now offering multiple radii and widths on their locking nuts. Same with Schaller, from whom I just ordered a 12" radius locking nut for my Jackson Rhoads.

Well, he did explain in the video.

Using the same cutting disk width and slicing into the base of the nut is not good IMO. I'd personally grind some material from the base of the nut using a nut with the correct radius. I might even consider routing a little wood from the nut shelf (if I thought it wouldn't alter the integrity/strength of the headstock joint). Joe's method seems like unneccesary butchery to me...
