Phishing email impersonating Mike

Got a super sketchy email claiming to be from Mike. Double check the sender before clicking any link! Subject line was “Re: 2024-2026”

Oh... just realized this was in the "Shishkov Guitars" category, so that Mike.

There appears to be a wrinkle on fraud where you receive an invite that looks like it comes from a friend. To confirm, you are asked to set u p an account and provide personal information that you SHOULD NOT give away. Always best to be safe. Contact your friend directly and don't click on the provided link.

I did sent Mike - well, some Mike  but he works at Shishkov - an email to maybe ask people if they have gotten anything sketchy and to be on the lookout.

Kiz…there ARE other Mikes out there, ya know!! 😂

This is a common phishing scam and typically it comes from some fraudster who has gotten into YOUR email account where they can see and spoof names of people you have received emails from in the past.  Even scarier, this is now coming through via texts.

Change your passwords regularly, but definitely do so when you get these!

I know, I know!

I'm just in the middle of answering emails from HFCers sending me audio files for The Best of the HFC V, so I was on guard.

Also there is some issue with my account, so my ears were already up.
