veatch Posted yesterday at 02:45 PM Posted yesterday at 02:45 PM I know it's nothing new, but I'm 100% convinced that Jolene was recorded at 15 IPS and then Dolly did the vocals at 30. The instruments sound much more genuine at the slowed down playback. I remember seeing Dolly on some TV show doing an Alvin and the Chipmunks style singing over a song being played back at double time. : )  So this is right in line with that. I also find it incredible that her voice is able to lock at double time. Amazing voice at any speed. 2 Quote
BruceM Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I've got lots of her music and have been doing a deep dive. Â This is one my favorite covers of hers: Â Â 1 Quote
hamerhead Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Of all her songs, 'Jolene' is the one that makes me want to stab pencils in my ears the most. 1 Quote
