Turdus Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Not that I'd want this guitar, but does Daddy's still ship? Thought they stopped that years ago.

Yeah, they don't sell via the internetIf there is a Daddy's near you they will send it to that one and you could try itPerhaps if someone phoned the Springfield store they could do it direct.

silentman Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Daddy's has always been my least favorite store to shop in.
ZR Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 When they did mail order b4 I was sold a "badly" misrepresented amp b4. I wouldn't deal with them again.
Turdus Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I used to buy at least one piece of gear from them monthly, back when they did mail order. Only had one real issue..... they listed a '63 P bass with case for a grand. When I got it, it was a 70's P bass, with no case. Somebody had pulled the neck, and written 1963 on the end, LOL. They took it back, no problemo.
serial Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Daddy's was always great in my experience. The key was to get the right guy on the phone. I forget the guy's name, but I always dialed his extension and he would take care of me. Picked up a '97 Mahogany Standard in NOS condition for $450 w/OHSC and a doubleneck Hamer from '81 (a bit beat, but very cool) for $425 shipped.
Turdus Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Serial -- would that have been Hirsh Gardner, the guy who played drums in the band "New England" in the late 70's, early 80's?
ZR Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Maybe it was just a busy week For Hirsh but ...um...well no comment.I did like New England though just not a HUGE wad of bubble gum on my beat up "great condition" amp, that they said they didn't see during their thorough pre-shipment inspection!
Taylor Player Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 I work about 10 minutes from this place...I'm gonna check it out.
Taylor Player Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Checked it out....Nicely flamed Koa top (clean)...look like Hot Rails x3. A little wall hanger damage and clearcoat bubbling on the fretmarker side of the neck. Sperzel locking tuners. Still, in my book its condition is cleaner than "good". It's on a 30-day hold till the 20th (not me)....
