BadgerDave Posted July 14, 2006 Author Posted July 14, 2006 A few nibbles on the AC, but no one’s taken it down. Off to eBay tonight. The Artist Korina and Chap Bass are still available. Did I mention that the Chap is a set-neck? I need to take better photos, particularly of the back of the bass, but here are a couple of quick snapshots:

After offering it to us with the HFC-friendly price of $1700, he put in on Ebay with a price meant for the masses - $200 less!!!I feel like my best friend just stabbed me in the throat with a cheap pointy BC Rich import...uhhhhh....EDITED TO ADD - now that I've slagged you thoroughly, how does that Bill Lawrence mini-hum sound? What is it comparable to? Lots of mids? Highs? Hmmm?

I'll be surprised if PF's bid at the opening minimum will hold, but you never know with ebay. The mini-hum on the AKIII is loud and "throaty" with a noticeable, but not over-the-top midboost. Probably the best sounding mini-humbucker I've heard for classic rock mild to heavy OD (though I've not heard the Rios yet). It sounds pretty good clean too, though I wouldn't choose any bridge humbucker for clean when I've got a pair of bootique P-90s available!

The Bill Lawrence website wasn't very helpful on pickup sound descriptions. In fact, it looks like it was HTML coded by trained monkeys.
