BadgerDave Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 It looks like I’m going to be homeless for about 6 months beginning in October. Well, not exactly homeless, but living in a corporate apartment while relocating to Florida and dealing with selling and buying/building a house. There will be limited room for guitars and I don’t want to trust transport to the movers or put them in storage, so it’s time for a pretty massive downsizing. A few of these were difficult decisions, but I can only keep a few: 1. 2002 Custom order Artist Custom in trans purple. Ebony board, 10 crowns, bound f-hole, pearl logo, ebony tuner buttons, TonePros, Seth Lover pickups. 9.9/10 condition, OHSC. $1,700.00. 2. T-51 in Surf/Seafoam/Daphne. Exceptional like-NOS condition, 100% original stock guitar w/OHSC. BruceM’s second favorite guitar. Just a hair over 9 lbs. $750.00 3. Artist Korina III. Excellent + condition with OHSC. I’ll sell this one with the pictured Fralin P-90s and Lawrence humbucker for $1,200.00 (inc. all original pickups, knobs, etc.) or put it back to stock (3 original Duncan P-90s, black covers, black knobs) for $1,000.00. BTW, I’ve replaced the fugly stove-knob pickup selector with a nice, unobtrusive cream knob. 4. Chaparral Bass, Setneck version Excellent + condition, OHSC, granite finish. $600.00. Here are a few photos that I have saved. More available. Add $25.00 to guitars for ground shipping, $35.00 for the bass. PayPal is OK with added 3% to cover the fees.
bobbymack Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 BD,E-me some more pics of the AC please....bobbymack AT turfnet DOT com
hamerhead Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 For anyone who doesn't already know - Dave's gear is all top shelf, and he's great to deal with.I want the Artist soooo bad, but I'd need a place to live, too if'n I brought it home.
serial Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Word. Best packing job on an item I've ever seen. Easily could've withstood a nuke blast. Almost couldn't get it out of the shipping carton (a speaker cab), but a delightful deal all around. And I'm a sucker for seafoam. Unfortunately, I'm trying to be disciplined and all and I'm holding out for something else. Damn-never seen another seafoam T-51 ever.
BadgerDave Posted July 10, 2006 Author Posted July 10, 2006 Thanks for the interest and kind words. I don't have more photos accessable from work, but I can take more tonight, get them uploaded and e-mail them by late evening.
cmatthes Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 That T-51 is calling me. Not sure WHAT it's calling me, but it is!I'll email ya on that one...
kizanski Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 That T-51 is calling me. Not sure WHAT it's calling me, but it is!I'll email ya on that one... Put me in line behind Chris...
hamersandstrats Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 That T-51 looks awesome. I tried to buy that guitar from the previous owner, but he was selling it as a set, IIRC. Thats a great looking AC as well. Badger-where in FL are you relocating to?
BadgerDave Posted July 10, 2006 Author Posted July 10, 2006 Badger-where in FL are you relocating to? Jacksonville. Most likely somewhere north of the airport - Fernandina Beach looked like a great place to live.
BTMN Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Might as well be in Georgia. I figured you to be a Mandarin or Jax Beach kinda guy.
Submariner85 Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Badger-where in FL are you relocating to? Jacksonville. Most likely somewhere north of the airport - Fernandina Beach looked like a great place to live. Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread but, I live in Kingsland just over the border from FL. My parents live in Fernandina Beach (30 minute drive from here). Jacksonville is nice as long as you get away from the "city" and get in the outskirts of it. North of the Airport is a great choice. Fernandina is nice if you like it more spread out. Comfortable almost country living there. Good beaches, smaller bars/restraunts but still, everything you need (almost)...........nearest guitar store and practically the ONLY one around is Guitar Center in Jacksonville. If you need some info on Fernandina, Yulee or Jacksonville, let me know and I can gather some stuff for you and mail it to you. I had a real estate agent in fernandina for a few months. She was cool.
BadgerDave Posted July 10, 2006 Author Posted July 10, 2006 Might as well be in Georgia. I figured you to be a Mandarin or Jax Beach kinda guy. I know what you mean. Mandarin looked like a hotspot, but the office will be just outside the airport and I HATE traffic! Besides, Fenandia is only 3 1/2 hours from Charleston! I appreciate the offer for info, but I've got a relocation Realtor who's doing a great job of keeping my mailbox, fax and inbox full. We'll have to get together for a beverage at the beach in a few months!
Lockbody Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 I want the Artist soooo bad, but I'd need a place to live, too if'n I brought it home. Same here. That Artist Custom is one of my dream Hamers. I can't believe it's for sale and I can't buy it. ARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! (only 'cause there's no crying smilie)
Guest Mike Lee Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Dave,Don't do it. Leave your Hamers with someone and collect them when you are settled. I've never sold a guitar because I "had" too, only because I really didn't want it anymore.Honestly, you can leave them with me. Just drop them off on the way south. And unlike most other people here, you can be pretty sure that I won't be playing them...
hamerhead Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Hell, Dave - I'M on your way south. Leave 'em with ME. I can't make the same promise as Mike, though.
BTMN Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 I look forward to helping start the Jax Jams. I have a real good friend out on Neptune/Atlantic Beach and visit semi regularly for good rawk shows. I know a few out of the way guitar shops but there is nothing special about most of them. George's Guitar(small scale Guitarget) over on the Beaches, Don's on the westside, and Chip's on Southside Blvd. along with couple other's are as close as you can get to Mom and Pop but I do know a cat who build amps over on Beach I bet you might want to know since you have a taste for low watt amps and heads IIRC. Still got my number I'm sure.
BruceM Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Ah man, just saw this post. That T-51's calling me too! Any of these other yahoo's make a down payment yet? I can stop by your house in an hour with CASH! Let me know if it's still available. Or perhaps I can hand-deliver it to the DC area. More importantly, the end of an era is here. We'll call it "The Badger Days" at the 4-3-2-1. Always waiting, watching, wondering what Dave was gonna pull out of that two-guitar soft case this time. I'm gonna miss you around here, Dave. Umm, what about that ugly pink sparkly guitar of yours. You're not going to drag that old thing all the way down to Florida, are you? Edited to add. Waaaaaaaaaaah!
MCChris Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 BTW, I’ve replaced the fugly stove-knob pickup selector with a nice, unobtrusive cream knob. Thank god. Easily the worst thing you've ever done.
BadgerDave Posted July 12, 2006 Author Posted July 12, 2006 Thank god. Easily the worst thing you've ever done. If only that were true! The T-51 is SOLD, others are still available.
MCChris Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Thank god. Easily the worst thing you've ever done. If only that were true! Well, to a guitar anyway ....
BruceM Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 The T-51 is SOLD, others are still available. A huge thanks to my HFC Brethren for stepping aside to let me acquire this one. And I've learned a valuable lesson. Whining WORKS!!!
