Kilroy is all about... Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Girls playing Hamers...a match made in heaven. My five-year-old daughter claims mine Rick Nielsen signature (MIK) is her's, although she can barely lift the thing. Keep the graphic hamer until you're ready to part with it. Kilroy posts.
Aliddel Posted April 7, 2005 Author Posted April 7, 2005 Guss- Wow--- Nice collection! This particular one though, isn't really Red & White. It's Red and Cream--almost like the colors of a classic Indian Chief motorcycle. It was the same cream color when it was brand spankin' new, unlike the whites that fade to creamy yellow as the years take their toll. Kilroy- Get that girl playing ASAP! I started playing when I was about 12 years old on a Sears six string that was spray painted black & red. The plastic tuning pegs cracked off and I used a plier to tune it! Ahhhh......the good 'ol days. Now, how can I part with this Hamer? All you guys have reminded me how much I love handling a beautiful guitar. Hey! I just passed NEWBIE and made it to MEMBER! Where we going for a beer?!
tomteriffic Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Hey! I just passed NEWBIE and made it to MEMBER! Where we going for a beer?! Brewmaster's place. You're buying!
Kilroy is all about... Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 Sister-Love, You must keep the guitar. If you do not, then another feeding frenzy will occur and I'm out of bait ($$). I'll put a picture of the lil' julia and 'her' RNS. Sorry about the gender miscue. Kilroy sends.
BTMN Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 In my 29 years as a Hamer Fan, I Have NEVER seen a Red Graphic Special. Course, I've led a sheltered life! Nice '81 Special! Please keep it and bring it to the Hamer Open House Tour and Jam in October and let us geeks all drool on it! Very Cool!!!
BTMN Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 Want another reason not to sell it? Since you haven't changed out the pickups I bet it still has the "Peter Green Type" wiring setup in it and these suggested Hamer knob settings will come in handy. I like Hollowlead the best but 10/10/10 always works well on my '81 Special. Thanks to Dr. Large for the pilferred file.
Aliddel Posted April 8, 2005 Author Posted April 8, 2005 Tom T- Now, I KNOW you're a musician! Nobody knows how to geyt a girl to buy him a drink better than a musician.... KilRoy, No problem about the gender thang. It seems the more I've talked about the Graphic Special the more I lean toward keeping it, plugging it in and bothering the neighbors like the good old days.
Aliddel Posted April 8, 2005 Author Posted April 8, 2005 BTM-- Where is it happening? PS I never knew there were any other settings than 10/10/10. Oh..wait a minute...there's always 11.
