Help! How to Adjust EB Volume Pedal?

Months of abuse have taken their toll on my EB volume pedal. It won't totally shut off the sound in the heel down position, which kind of defeats the purpose of the tuner out jack. Anyone know how to adjust it without losing any output (I guess put back to standard pot setting?).

Thanks in advance,

did you mess with the "string assembly"? not sur ehow it could get out of sync otherwise. i think you can buy a replacement string assembly from an EB dealer. might do the trick. or email EB customer service and see if they have some tune up tricks.

you can adjust the pot without removing the string - I hadda do it, took a lot of powerful swearing to get it done, but mine works fine now.

Loosen the nut that holds the pot in place and turn it one way a few degerees and tighten down. If it doesn't go quieter, loosen and turn the other way.

To make the adjustment Greg is talking about you will have to disassemble the pedal (the nut is underneath the pulley).

This will help when it comes time to put it all back together:

BTW: I have encountered at least one pedal where everything was fine but the string still insisted on sliding some on the pulley. This gave symptoms similar to what you describe. In that instance a temporary fix was a tie wrap between the bracket that holds one end of the string and the lug that is crimped onto the string. This acted as a spacer and put more tension on the string and then it worked fine. If yours has this problem it should be pretty easy to see if you watch the pulley through the back of the pedal (assuming it's the old style) while you rock the pedal by hand.
