DEMENTED Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Hey Chris, did you have this last time I was over? I don't remember a Rivera.
JJ Paul Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Amazing amp...Loved mine, vintage 1995. Frigging loud thang, it was. Mine didn't have the Celestions so it sounded a tad too warm, but the bottom line is that these amps are GREAT! Congrats to the buyer and good luck for the sale!JJ
Bigred Posted January 22, 2007 Author Posted January 22, 2007 Yes...the Rivera was there, but with 20 other amps all over,it may have been overlooked!....This thing is LOUD and sounds terrific....the only thing it needed when serviced was a couple of 12AX7s..the older ones were microphonic...and cleaning/biasing.....for 550.00 this is a DEAL guys.....
silentman Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 What can this amp do for gain? I have a friend who's amp hunting and this could be the ticket. Does it have Mesa-like crunch?
Bigred Posted January 22, 2007 Author Posted January 22, 2007 The first channel has Marshall like crunch and the 2nd channel is similar to a mid 60's blackface Fender...like a really juiced up Deluxe Reverb.....but you can gain it up alot depending on the settings....it's an extremely versatile rig....go to Harmony Central/amps and read the reviews if you feel so inclined....many guys go on and on about this amp and its features...it is explained there better than I can....hope this helps!....
halide Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 this is a fantastic cover band amp. i have an anniversary series m60 head that kills. definitely the most versatile amp i have ever owned. channel 1 hs some really cool push/pull pots to get 2 extra gain stages. it can do early ac/dc non-master volume type crunch to darn near mesa gain. channel 2 can be super loud and clean to just about any amount of crunch with the master. the footswitchable fx loop is great solo boost for either channel regardless of the degree or lack of headroom left on the amp. ninja boost is nice for a little break up on channel 2.these amps have to be biased correctly to sound their best but it is pretty easy and straight forward to do.
