Jimbilly Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 My T-51 is orange w/ a black guard, -I'll add a photo. I think it might be cool with another color guard, anybody have a spare for sale? Somehow I doubt that a Fender guard will fit...
Mike_C Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 You might try calling Kim Keller at Hamer. He might have some left over in his parts dept. By the way that is a beauty of a T-51. Love that color.
Jimbilly Posted June 8, 2007 Author Posted June 8, 2007 Good call, I still have his email, I'll give that a try.
cmatthes Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Ditto what Mike said. Last time I was up there, there were still some pearloid and tort T-51 guards stacked up, and I bought a replacement Daytona guard for a very reasonable price last year from him.
BadgerDave Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 I'd go tortoise on that one!If you strike out at Hamer, there are several places that will cut you a new pickguard from your outline of the old one, including Warmoth, WD and Pickguardian. You might check with BCR Greg too. He's been known to craft some amazing things from vinyl sheet.
holLoWskull Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 I personally think tort looks great on vintage orange! I got my pickguard from Kim when I was over at the Hamer Factory a couple years ago. I think Alpep may still have some too. Click on the Hardware tab and look for the Hamer parts link. Any of the above suggestions made so far should all be great places to find what you're looking for.
doody Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Chandler made the originals and still has the templates. Not the cheapest way to go, but they haev great products and great service.
