Matt Mattson Posted June 13, 2007 Author Posted June 13, 2007 Nice!!! Man those arms are skinny.Agreed, but what a player. He was the first guy I really listened to much.
kizanski Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 Awesome seat-of-your-pants slide technique. He's been one of favorites for a long time.
tomteriffic Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Wow, two pretty impressive 'second fiddles' there, G. E. Smith and Steve Cropper.I once saw Johnny sit in with the Son Seals Band in Chicago. After Son took two blistering choruses on Stormy Monday, Johnny leveled the place with ONE note. Just astounding.afterward, I brough up my copy of Progressive Blues Experimet for an autograph. Jonny held it at nose-length to see what is was and remarked "Damn, I didn't think anybody bought this record". High point for me, that night.
