seeker Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 its serial number is 540496That serial is for a 1995 model Hamer. It's buried in the support menu: serial numbersYours is the 40,496th Hamer made under the non-4 digit numbering system.
mirrorimij Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 There was a limited run of Natural finish Diablos done right about that time. I can't remember the specifics but I thought they all went overseas.More info please. This is the stuff I that gets me excited about this board.
serial Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 That's one of the things that I think is exciting about Hamers in general. Unlike Gibson or Fender where even a limited run is more than the monthly (somtimes yearly) output of Hamer, you can identify individual instruments' histories. I once tracked down an SS2 after seeing a pic of it in the factory just before completion. It's since moved on, but I thought that was cool.
diablo81 Posted August 27, 2007 Author Posted August 27, 2007 cheers guys for the reply its strange i've never seen one with just the one volume like mine. I agree thats why i love owning them and playing them live people are always asking about the hamer guitar. Most people just go out and get, like you said a gibson or fender i can' believe more people don't use them lol more for us lol here'e a pic
cmatthes Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 I've got a mid-90s Brit "Guitarist" mag (I'm pretty sure that's the one) with Jan Cykra reviewing that guitar. I think he used one just like/very similar to that for a few years in there.
