BruceM Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 I don't know what PSA means, but it seemed appropriate here for some reason.http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/msg/451565944.htmlThis is on my local craigslist. I don't know the seller, but this does look like a good deal. Richfield is a few miles from my house, so if I can assist anyone in any way with this, let me know.

Something about it reminds me of Ace Frehley. Do you know if this is an IL or CT made?

Bloozguy Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 Severe GAS overcame me last night and I bought the silver sparkler this morning!I assume since it's a '99 it's CT made.Does anyone here know exactly what it is, though? The guy called it an Artist, but with that finish in that year wouldn't it be a Vanguard or a 25th Anniversary?
anotherfreak2 Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 The Vanguard name was pulled after most of the guitars were out, some kind of copywright thingy, surprise!it wouldn't be a 25th ann,but it would be a fantastic guitar!!!! good score!

(sorry, video game quote - which game though?)That oughta keep you busy until the Eclipse 12 gets there on monday lol...25th Anniversary Hamers (the non-Limited Edition) were red with humbuckers.I believe those started out as the Vanguard (silver sparkle, P-90s)Then Hamer (or Kaman marketing lol) changed the name to Artist Mahogany P-90 and it could be silver or trans-red (like every other Hamer around 2000 lol). They never named it the Phantom AFAIK. We just call them cool."ooh.. shiny..."
BubbaVO Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 That's a great grab for that price. Can we get a tone report?
Bloozguy Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Not just a rampage, but a sparkly guitar rampage. The guy I got this from works in a local music store and they've got a Talladega hanging there...I didn't even touch it!I'll definitely do a tone report...I haven't had DiMarzio pickups in anything since Super Distortions in the 70's...and this one's got Virtual P90 and DLX-90 humbuckers. I'm getting the original P90's as well in case these aren't as tasty. We'll have a more thorough analysis after the November 9th 4-3-2-1 club party for sure.
