Bring 'em out of the closet, or wherever they are... and let's see some pics of these beauties!

here's mine:

Both are NOS (new old stock) so even though they were made in 2005 they are recent purchases... the one on the left was used in the 2007 Hamer catalog... i think it was page 18 or so.

both are Ice Tea color.

Nobody with a triple threat? I think those are my favourite of the ones posted on Joel's designer guitars page on the Hamer website.

Just amazing looking guitars, love to get my hands on one. I heard somebody say here that they would be the most Les Paulish of Hamers. Does anybody have experience with that? Has anybody seen how much they sell for?

thanks!

Remind me about the Triple Threat. They have the one piece necks, the larger angled headstock, and what was the third threat again?

Nevermind, I looked it up. The vintage bridge is the third threat.

How do these compare to the current Studios and the old 1 piece neck Sunbursts?

If I remember correctly the triple threat was:

One piece neck

17 degree headstock angle

Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard

Here's a shot of mine. I bought it new (my first "new" guitar since '94).

The TT's are much closer to the current Studio's than they are to the original Sunburst's They are all cool though!

PirateFlynn was right about the features... but also... the term "triple threat" was used to reference the 3 dealers involved in the design.

here's Joel's quote from the Hamer site:

"I am pleased to unveil a very special limited edition model that I call the Triple Threat. It's named after the three most unique features of the guitar and is a reference to my three esteemed design collaborators at the dealerships that will exclusively offer this model this year. Each instrument is a little different—some tops are flat-sawn and some are quarter-sawn and all are under 8.5 lbs. In addition to our '59 burst, colors are Ic'd-T and Wash'd-T.

In order to capture a different timbre, we've employed a single element neck design crafted from aged honduras mahogany. To provide maximum stability we have used seasoned wood and allowed the finished necks to normalize for a long period before curving and fretting the Brazilian rosewood fingerboard.

The second bold feature is the 17 degree headstock angle which makes this instrument unique among modern Hamers. The final touch is the use of a TonePros AVR II vintage style bridge and matching TonePros tailpiece in cast zinc. All hardware is nickel finish."This was a very fun project with a great group of people, but when these are gone... that's all folks!"

Very, very nice.

How about a photo of the Redwood?

i don't want to post a pic of it in this thread... as this one was dedicated to Triple Threats... but you can see it here in another thread... scroll down and you can see a bunch of my guitars. i'll be happy to send you more pics of it as well, if you like. (the redwood is probably my overall fav guitar right now).

That's weird. It does read as though the 3rd "threat" was the bridge and tailpiece. I could have sworn it was the brazilian fingerboard. I think they changed that! lol
