unobuc Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 S*O*L*D my Monaco Elite (Edit:It is a 2002) in OHSC, SOLD, Paypal or USPS money order only. In excellent condition, Duncan '59's neck & bridge. No visible dings/scratches anywhere that I can find. Minor fretwear on upper frets 1 through 3, not affecting playability. Also: Has had a number of pup swaps apparently, as the electroincs cavity is not as pretty as an unmolested Hamer should be, but what's in there is solid work, sounds great. Will miss the guitar, but need the cash for the moment, plus - I can always replace with another Hamer later. Sample photos: Many more photos here: http://s103.photobucket.com/albums/m158/un...Hamer%20Monaco/ PM here or e-mail: riverapnoNOSPAM@yahoo.com
MCChris Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Is it currently sportin' the double zebras?Ricky2 wouldn't be the original owner of that one, would he? Looks like the one he sold, which was one of the nicest guitars of any kind that I have ever seen.
unobuc Posted March 27, 2008 Author Posted March 27, 2008 The current setup is shown in the upper photo, bridge '59 in black, neck in zebra. Not sure about the orig. owner, however I got this in a trade with another Forum member not long after he had acquired same.Is it currently sportin' the double zebras?Ricky2 wouldn't be the original owner of that one, would he? Feynman Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 I remember that one. That was my first Hamer. I traded it for the Studio Custom that UPS lost.Unoboc is good people, patient and understanding - he had to put up with a bunch of crap from UPS for months in order to get it all resolved.I bought that guitar from Ringmod. That's all the history I know of.Very nice guitar - the one that made me join this forum, in fact.I'm pretty sure it's a 2002.
unobuc Posted March 27, 2008 Author Posted March 27, 2008 Thanks Feynman, for the "rest of the story". Fortunately Feynman was as easy to work with, or the deal could have gone very bad indeed. All that aside it remains an outstanding instrument, a keeper, of course. Only sold/resold by those of us who seemingly cannot stand "pat" on our guitars.I remember that one. That was my first Hamer. unobuc Posted March 28, 2008 Author Posted March 28, 2008 Hey Rocktuna - Thanks for the PM. Cannot get my reply PM to work, so my response is here. While I am always tempted to try anything, I am actually trying to downsize my modest collection, so I've got to decline your trade offer. I still checked out the photos anyway because I just gotta know what I will miss out on ....Thanks -Bill
ToneCrafter Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 I sure wish I was in a posistion to take this off your hands. I love it.
