serial Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 I know that there are some Dean fans here, but for those who aren't, these things (the Standards-bound bodies) are getting impossible to find and really pricey. Even harder to find in BLUEBURST. Straight ones are going for well over $2k if you can find one (haven't been any on eBay until today-I think someone's listing a natural one-in a few months). This one needs a small bit of restoration-I just have too many projects and I have a couple of really clean original Deans. Body had a repair on the bass wing that was done by BCRGreg. No neck or heel issues at all, just the body piece. Still needs some cosmetic paint repair at that site to be 100% or just rock the F out of it as is. This is an '81 with the V neck. All original parts are included other than the pickups (but I'll toss in what came with it-a Super D and some POS). I've got $800 into it and would like to break even-I might be able to think about a few trade offers-maybe a Duotone, but cash is always king. VERY cool guitar, I'm just up to my a$$ in projects and need to either finish some or move 'em along. I have more pics, but for now, here's one post-repair.
BCR Greg Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 Remind me to teach Serial how to turn pic upright. I get a crick in my neck every time I look at his pics.
veatch Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 Remind me to teach Serial how to turn pic upright. I get a crick in my neck every time I look at his pics. Edited to remove pic as Serial's pic was corrected...
BCR Greg Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 I have tinted that binding patch to match since the pic was taken.
bubs_42 Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Can we get a close up of the Spot that needs repaired and a shot of the back?
serial Posted May 6, 2008 Author Posted May 6, 2008 This would be a no-brainer for several of the restoration gurus here, I'd think.
