I am looking for the Thumb/Toggle locking nut shown in the photo below. I think these were made by Kahler, but I am not 100%. If you got one to unload shoot me an e-mail.

They also go by the name of Edwards, there are several different versions, some good some crap. Bill Edwards made the good ones that work with a Floyd rose tremelo. Try to find the Edwards version and you won't be disapointed. I used to have a spare one and believe it or not I gave it away to a friend to put on a korean Ibanez. I never said I was smart....

Thanks for that memory-jog, Todd!

I have a bunch of Kramer lit from the mid-80s ('83-'85) that had a separate flyer on that nut. Don't know why they never took off over the hex adjusters, unless they somehow lost tension over time or something. As a Floyd owner/player back then, I always thought it was a great idea.

I'll have to look to see if ones that work for Floyd Rose's are still out there somewhere. They always seemed like a better way of doing things to me.

EDIT: Hmm, looks like Bill Edwards is the guy behind Fretboard Logic. Doesn't sound like he liked his experience in guitar part manufacturing much

(do a search for "Bill Edwards Finger-Tite Locking Nut")

There is a good writeup on Vintage Kramer site, here is the link. Edwards locknut

From the sounds of it he didn't have much luck with the patent and some cheap copies tarnished the whole thing.

Good Luck

This is different from the Edwards unit. Kahler sold these, but, they've never reissued them. So, they tend to be less conmon on eBay than the hex key nuts, which are available brand new.

Yes there were two types, the Kahler version was to be installed behind the nut, the floyd rose version replaced the nut.
