Check 'em out if you're into that sorta thing. I dig 'em. If you need a price please e-mail me. I can't show price 'cause of MAP and all that. Trust me, they're very reasonable. Each one comes with a real nice G&L gig bag, a G&L shirt, G&L polishing cloth and free shipping. Thanks!

Here's a pic. More models on the site. Thanks to Not Steve for taking all the pics!

Tribute guitars are fantastic guitars, regardless of the price.

Those are far nicer than those pix. Great bang for the buck in a bolt-on/Fender style deal.

I'm slinging my Daytona in one of those spiffy heavy-duty gigbags too!

#2 and #4 take a sweet picture.

What's the diff between the pups on # 3 and #4?

They're both G&L Magnetic Field Design single coils, one traditional one large rectangular. The rectangular ones are high output. Here's their schpiel:

The patented Magnetic Field Design® pickups use a ceramic bar magnet installed underneath each coil, with soft iron adjustable pole pieces to transfer the magnetic field to the surface of the pickup. By contrast, traditional Alnico type pickups, such as used in the Legacy and George Fullerton models, use nonadjustable Alnico pole pieces leaving the only adjustment being pickup height. The Magnetic Field Design has this adjustment, but further offers individual adjustment of each pole piece, letting the player effectively adjust the output of each string on each pickup. Magnetic Field Design yield about twice the output per wind, making the pickup quieter while allowing a greater overall output. The sound of Magnetic Field pickups is slightly warmer with a broader frequency response. One major Nashville session guitarist remarked that the Magnetic Field single coil pickups sounded as balanced and "sweet" as his favorite old vintage Alnicos.

Not to ask a stupid question, but I thought I heard that the Tributes use either the USA pickups or very similar ones. What's the deal there?

I thought it was import wood with USA hardware.

The pickups are definately the same (US made) ones you see in USA G&L's. Not sure about the pots and switches...

pots and switches are not the same as the US ones. just the pickups. they've recently (a few months ago) changed the pots. think they used to be CTS, but they were having a lot of issues with them, so they changed them and from what i understand, the new ones are better.

Tried a bunch of these at a local shop last year when I went to a Will Ray Clinic....

They are way better than they should be for the dough....
