bubs_42 Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 Ebay Auction, for 5 digit Charvel..http://cgi.ebay.com/1981-San-Dimas-Charvel...1QQcmdZViewItem
Disturber Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 4000 dollars buy it now for a bolt on explorer designed guitar! Yikes If you are really lucky you could perhaps still score a 4 digit Standard for that price. Not that the Charvel does not look nice, but I'd really think an old Standard would be a hell of a lot more guitar for the money.
veatch Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 I've only been lucky enough to play 2 early Charvels. Both were bolt ons and both were absolutely incredible.I won't try to compare them to a Standard - apples and oranges, and i'm sure opinion would vary...
Jeff R Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 I've had three San Dimas Charvels and a couple of San Dimas Jackson bolt-ons. Like a VERY worn-in old Strat, that's been hotrodded to all hell and back. I love 'em, I just can't afford 'em when I find ones I like.
Guest JackButler Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 Charvel explorer w/ strat head and a standard are like comparing apples and kiwi.. in a most extreme way.. not even remotely similar.. not better than another, etc.. just different.
bubs_42 Posted July 3, 2008 Author Posted July 3, 2008 I have alway's wanted a Charvel Strathead but could never afford it. Now that I can I got sidetracked with a Half a dozen Hamers... O'well !
