The Shark Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I have a 1966 stashed. To me, they are the best of the black face reverbs. I wouldn't sell mine for that price. Hard to believe it's still around. If you've never played one, you should give it a whirl. Every time I think of selling it, I break it out and play it for a few days. That diffuses my GAS.
murkat Posted September 27, 2008 Author Posted September 27, 2008 yeah, its still here, collecting vintage mojo dust.... I just dont plug into it no more. I favour the reason amp.
Bigred Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 These PR's are something special...mine is frm '65 and sounds fantastic too...
DavidE Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Wow, that's awesome though I'm not sure of the effect of the custom tranny on sound or value. If I remember correctly, the Fender Amp Book authors stated that in their opinions, the two best Fender amps were the blackface pro reverb and the blackface Vibrolux reverb (one of single coils and the other for humbuckers, but I forget which goes with which). I've only managed to hear a few Pro reverbs over the years, but they were all spectacular.
