intelligentpony Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Anyone notice it was a one piece top? Really? I can clearly see the center seam. Notice the color changes from below the tailpiece to the bottom edge.
bubs_42 Posted October 19, 2008 Author Posted October 19, 2008 Can't tell, it may be my computer screen.

I thought the same as you until I looked a lot closer. Dang near impossible to see from the other pics. A one-piece top on a SC would be something really special, alright... I wonder how many times it's been done?
cmatthes Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Back then, the flame tops were just veneers, basically. Specials and Sunbursts had single-piece veneer tops, Standards had 2-pc tops (due to the sheer amount of real estate there).
bubs_42 Posted October 19, 2008 Author Posted October 19, 2008 That is a great guitar and brilliantly executed! If there were so many Older Sunburst that needed a good home I would have to do a C/O..
