Just a public acknowledgement to Marc.

A killer deal on a little Trademark 10 that needed a new home.

What a great guy to deal with. (But a LOT of you knew that already, but if anyone else has the opportunity...go for it)

Shoulda brought a guitar to work today...I could have tortured the boss...

('cause I;m a bass player and SUCK on guitar mostly..hahaha)

Now I'll be bothering y'all for 'guitar playing trix...

thanks again buddy.

Right back atcha, man. Friendliest deal ever.

Hey, in response to a question in your e-mail, maybe best to discuss here where folks would know more than me:

"dumb question...does the speaker have to be connected if i'm running the amp direct into the board?"

I seem to remember that you could run the Trademark series of amps with the speaker disconnected BUT I wouldn't go ahead on that basis since I know some amps will self-destruct without a load. That's probably a question T21 support could answer for you if you shoot them a quick e-mail. There used to be a T21 employee (John?) on this board. Maybe he's still around, even. Greg also seems to be pretty knowledgeable about their product line.

I went looking for an electronic copy of the manual on-line but had no luck. I'll let you know if I turn up the original around the house. I think it might have gone the way of the box the last time I cleaned house. (Whoever took receipt of that amp probably thought you bought a sewing machine LOL.)

Thanks again!

The Tech21 guy e-mailed me back ALREADY. Sent me an owner's manual. It just tells me to plug a dummy 1/4" into the headphone output and that automatically disconnects the mighty 10 watt amplifier (hehehe). Same thing if you plug into the Ext Spkr jack.

I am mightily impressed that he was so quick to respond (I even told him it was used etc.)

Man I can't wait to get home. I think I'm gonna take her down to the church and rip through the P.A. Later...

(insert tarzan yell)

Have a great 4th o' July weekend my American cousins...

Hey Dion, just curious about your first impressions. Straight to a PA that amp will be BRIGHT (like most if not all Tech21 products.) You will need to roll off a lot of highs. Like I said, I like it best into a guitar cab, the bigger the better. That will warm things up considerably.

Dion:

Marc is a class act.

The Tech21 guys are also fantastic - glad to hear you're broadening your horizons!

1st impressions, eh? ( I have been meaning to e-mail you Marc, but just haven't DONE it...sorry dude)

Well it's no SVT...hehehe

I'm a bass player... what the heck do I know?

I haven't had a lot of time to mess around, I guess about 20 minutes through the P.A. before the others started rehearsing.

I didn't run any foldback, so I listened from behind the mains at first. Just a quick set-up using the old 'Metallica' setting felt ok for the old power chord thing. (Not sure if the prayer team appreciated 5 minutes of the opening riff of 'Enter Sandman' but again, I'm a bass player, don't have much else to offer)

I let a 'real' guitar player take a snort and I wandered around. It sounded ok, I don't know that he adjusted anything on the amp itself.

Was it bright? Maybe, but that might be partly caused by the single humbucker pick up in the bridge position as well, no?

As for broadening the old horizons, it will take some time...those strings are mighty close together. lol

If i work hard, the plan is to reward myself with an old Special or a newer Duotone.

Dare to dream I say...
