Disturber Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 I heard the new Billy Idol single today when I was at the gym. (Yes, the gym on and on a Sunday morning too. Aint that special). It was a really cool track. Not a killer in the same league as White Wedding or Rebel yell, but it sounded pretty much like old Billy again. Steve Stevens does a really snotty riff, classic Idol. The guitar solo ripped. From what I could tell though listening through a crappy sound system his guitar sound did not sound as good as on the classic albums. Must be that he don't play those shortscale Hamer's anymore From what I understand Keith Forsey was back behind the desk on this one as well, which is promising. Now get that Steve fella a couple of Hamer's again and everything is back to as it used to be.
custom53 Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 Did anyone here ever see Billy Idol playing a Christmas song on the Jay Leno show a few years back.It was basically Guns 'n Roses with Billy singing. Very cool. Better than Velvet Revolver in my own humble opinion....
gregc Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 Can't we please just make these guys just go way??????? Hey, Mr. Idol, guess what? IT'S OVER~~~~~~~~~~~~gregc
Jimbilly Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 I saw Billy and Steve on their tour about 2 summers ago, -it ain't over...
jisham Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 Steve Stevens is absolutely one of my favorite guitarists and I too hope he doesn't go away any time soon. There's live broadcast on AOL of the whole band playing a new tune called "scream" I believe and Stevens just rips it up. I'll be buying the disc and seeing the tour for sure.
