The signatures on the body will likely come off if they are just Sharpie/Magic Marker but I would think the ones that hve been on the white pickguard for 10 years in black marker will probably have bled into it and you need to have a new guard made. I don't know if you will find a ready-made pickguard for that configuration.Depending how much UV light hit the guitar over the last 10 years, I guess there is also a chance that you might get a slight fade mark from the outline of the signatures, like when a sticker is on a guitar for years...probably not but hard to know for sure.

Maybe $650 to $700???? They come up frequently enough. Be patient. If you want one with some built in coolness/character this autographed item may be perfect for you.But don't pay a premium price, and then try to remove the autographs and go thru to expense of having a new pickguard made. Not worth it.but again, just my $0.02 (adjust to $0.05 once the stimulus inflation kicks in).caddie
Hgb5000 Posted April 26, 2009 Author Posted April 26, 2009 I do think the price is a bit high and I had not thought about shading from sun exposure (like when a sticker is on a car). That was a good point. All in all, I'd rather wait for a cleaner guitar.
