Hgb5000 Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Have this on DVR and on order...... Made Clapton look like he phoned it in..... and has been for MANY years.... sorry Clapton fans.... He was brilliant that night.... same as on the R&R hall of fame... he is at the top of his game .... and STILL improving IMHO..I thought the same thing. Beck just blew him away. Beck seems to still be striving to do more and more while Clapton seems to be playing the same stuff over and over and his tone seems to be getting worse instead of better.
Jakeboy Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I bought this album the day it came out on Emusic...incredible...though i much prefer Beck's style /tone in the Yardbirds & even more so in the Truth/Beck-Ola era, he is just a flippin' monster who seems to just get better with age. he is one of the only guitarists out there who makes me wanna stop playing cause he is just so stinkin' good...everyone else makes me wanna pick up an axe & jam...but Jeff Beck is stupid good...at the 2007 CrossroadsFestivval, he blew everyone out of the water...well, Hubert Sumlin put up a fight....but Beck is in another league. I LOVE when he plays blues.
Wally Gator Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I'm waiting for him to play an entire song with only the whammy bar - no fretted notes. He's that precise.
acb Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Beck is God.+1i've been watching the Beck@Scott clips on youtube for the past year or more; recently/finally purchased a hi-D flat screen and the show was playing on palladia. even more amazing on an appropriate sized viewing screen.
