Scooter Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 TRADED, GONE, POOF! I just got this Floyded, Crowned Blitz delivered today (eBay deal). Problem is, I'm just not digging the neck. I don't know if it's too thin or just an unfamiliar shape. Whatever. I don't feel like putting a bunch of time and money into finishing it just to have it sit until I flip it, so I'll flip it now! The Good: Original electronics, all cavity covers intact, stadium logo, straight neck, very little fret wear, gorgeous rosewood fretboard, and rare CROWN inlays!! The Bad: Crack at the nut bolts (feels solid), lotsa scratches and dings, pickups not wired, tuners labeled "Valley Arts", no case, missing the Floyd. The Floyd you see in the pics was on my workbench. It doesn't come with the guitar (although it could I suppose - depending on the deal). This guitar has a ton of grime that'll need to be cleaned, so that's up to you. But after a good cleaning and set-up, it'll be a killer guitar. And pretty rare too - can't say that I've ever seen a Blitz with crowns before. I know financial times are tough, so I'm not looking for a straight sale, but a trade instead. So trade me another Floyded guitar! Something of similar value +/-. Whatcha got?!

Scooter Posted August 8, 2009 Author Posted August 8, 2009 What are you thinking as for trade value? That's the question, isn't it! I have no clue. A Blitz with 3+3 headstock and a Kahler can fetch $500-$700. The Floyd adds a bit. The hockeystick adds a lot. But the crown inlays are the wildcard. Who knows what they might add?Let me put it this way...If you have one of the new Charvels that you aren't bonding with, we have a trade!
Steve Haynie Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 The photos on my monitor are still not bright enough to get a good look at the area around the where the nut screws go through the back of the neck. Of all the Hamers I have seen most have stress cracks in the finish in that area. They often have finish chipping between the screw holes. That does not mean there is a crack in the wood underneath.

Does this help? I tried to zoom in and sharpen the photo... It sure doesn't seem like the wood is cracked, just the paint. But I'm no expert.
