bigjel Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Does anyone know of a make of large guitar tuners. I have a problem with my sight and am trying to find one with a large visual interface. When I say large, nothing is too large!! I have seen in music stores wall mounted tuners that are not for sale which are effectively adverts for manufacturers, where the tuner is effectively a gimmick. One of those would be ideal if anyone knows where one can be sourced. Thanks in advance. Andy
velorush Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Was watching a concert on TV the other night and the bass player had one of these in his rack. You could see each note he was playing all the way in the backline of the stage: Korg DTR1000 The LED sweep helps, as well, as it is pretty large and intuitive when trying to hit the pitch. I use a smaller stomp-box version, the DT-10 (discontinued, but still around) and it has pretty good visual feedback, though smaller and on the floor. It is extremely accurate and has a really nice buffer, to boot.
Ethan Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 how about this?http://www.bossus.com/gear/productdetails....mp;ParentId=252

I can't think of any tuner than has a particularly large screen.-Austin
Bjørn M Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Have you looked at the Korg PichtBlack? With the different settings it's quite easy to read. And a pretty funny review:
Steve Haynie Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 If there were a way to interface with this technology someone could make a fortune.

The tuner sits on top of my amp, but it is not always easy to get back to the amp to re-tune during a gig and would be easier if I had something nice and large at my feet. Thanks all for your help.If there were a way to interface with this technology someone could make a fortune.I once saw Wheatus use something along those lines and wanted one!
Uncle Thor's Hamer Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I recently got a Hardwire tuner from Digitech. It is an excellent tuner. It is lightning quick to lock onto the note, it is accurate, and you can set it to mute while tuning if you desire. The LEDs can be set to sweep like a strobe tuner or to indicate cents sharp/flat like a normal needle tuner. The display is plenty bright. On stage you should be pretty close to in tune, so you don't need to verify the letter of the note, just tweak it back to perfection. A strobe style tuner might be helpful if you have trouble seeing details but can see the motion ok. Lights moving in one direction mean you're flat, the other direction means you're sharp. No motion means you're in tune.
