HoboMan Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 SOLD -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Carvin DC127T with DC400 electronics. The guitar is solid alder. The original owner ordered it this way so that there wouldn't be such a difference in the wood patterns between the neck & body. It is VERY lightweight. I don't have a scale but I would guess a little over 6lbs. One of the lightest guitars I've ever played. It is a neck through construction with an Ebony fretboard and beautiful abalone block inlays. It has all black hardware including a Wilkenson tremelo and Sperzel locking tuners. The tremelo stays in tune VERY well. Has Graph Tech string saver saddles installed. I will include the original saddles also. 6100 Jumbo frets and low action. Currently set up with 9s and plays like a dream. I had the frets leveled & polished by Rick Cremer (one of the best) about 5 months ago and have played the guitar less then 15 hours since then. It has active electronics - Push/pull active/passive controls with passive master volume & tone and active master volume & cut/boost for bass & treble, 3-way pickup selector, 2 dual/single coil switches & a phase switch. It takes a 9 Volt battery for the active electronics BUT the good thing is it will work just like a normal electric guitar in passive mode, even if there is no battery installed. The neck pickup is the original Carvin and the bridge is a Seymour Duncan Full Shred. The Full Shred name is a little misleading because it gets a GREAT crunchy classic rock tone. The PUs sound FANTASTIC in split mode. An amazing amount of different/GREAT tones are available. Color is what I believe Carvin calls Sapphire Blue. This is a fantastic playing & sounding guitar. The cutaway gives easy access all the way up to the 24th fret. It is one of the most ergonomically comfortable guitars I've ever played. Overall great condition with some minor worming on the back and a couple of minor bumps. The most noticable is behind the tremelo back by the edge of the guitar (see first pic). None go thru the finish. Includes original Carvin hardshell case. Here's a low quality video that shows just a small sample of the versatility of this guitar: I start off in humucker mode, at 1:07 I split the coil, at 1:40 I switch to the clean channel of the amp and you can hear some great clean tones.
killerteddybear Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 +1. Excellent value for the money. And a steal on the used market.I was up at the factory last Saturday and tried a couple of their LP clones. Really sweet!
