Hamerica Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Looks good. I think the tuners have been changed. So I am not sure if the statement original hardware is correct. Hamerica
bizzwriter Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Bidding has ended. Okay -- which one of youse guys snapped it up?!?
BadgerDave Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 What is a fair price for this?5 years ago - $1,200.0018 months ago - $2,500.00Today - ?Could be anywhere between the two, probably not higher. But 1 or 2 buyers with a severe case of "gotta have" could push it up. Not many of these come up for sale.Don't want to start a controversy, but does anyone else think the bridge saddles look like they're adjusted way high? Especially on the bass side?
Hamerica Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Hey Badger,Yeah, I noticed the bridge saddles were adjust way up. I was wondering if the shim was missing. Guess it doesn't matter as its gone. Hopefully to a good home. Hamerica
cmatthes Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 I noticed that too - tough to tell from the angles, but that action looks pretty high. Wonder if there are any neck issues on this one (it IS bound and crowned! )
Pieman Posted November 12, 2009 Author Posted November 12, 2009 Okay boys, here's the story: after I emailed him about the tuners, he cancelled the auction. I have been communicating by email. He has posted his phone number in an addendum to the ebay ad. if you want to call him, feel free. I have made him an offer an hour ago and have not heard back yet. I once had an '83 Special - - a real beater - - and I have been hankering for another. I was interested in this because it appears pretty clean. Clean is good for resale, especially these days. If you think there might be a shim issue, is that correctable? He says the neck is straight as an arrow. But he says that about an accoustic he has for sale, too. Your thoughts? Gracias Tom
