Brooks Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 ugh, i had a miserable time. maybe cause i just went to ozzfest the other week, i dunno, i wasn't into it. most of the bands i hated. avenged sevenfold were the most metal sounding, w/ solos and harmony guitars, very early metallica at times, they were cool. watched 2 songs from the offspring, they sounded good. the rest, ehhh. it fookin rained from four thru to the end, soaked. my 15 yearold niece loved it, tho. i told her it was the last warped tour, they were cancelling it after this year, she didn't buy it, ha. wanted to check out ethans band, but the board was down so i couldn't get their name or time. warped has stages everywhere w/ mostly mediocre bands playing similtaneously, so it was a needle in a haystack w/o a band name or time to go by. the thing i noticed this year was guys in "diy" bands aggressively hawking their cd's (by confronting you w/ portable cd players and headphones and a plea to "please check out our cd and tell me what you think"); my neice got suckered into buying 2 just because "the band guy was hot", ha. one tried to get me to listen, but i said "nah, i hate everything after 1979".
ZR Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 I wanted to take our youngest daughter so she could see Reliant K and Fallout Boy but they scheduled it down here in Atlanta during a school day (nice planning)! So we passed.
Ethan Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Sorry you missed us Brooks. We were playing at this little stage under a tent next to that big PlayStation2 tent, sort of in the back of the area that the main stages were in. We went on at 12:30, and we didn't really find out when we were going on until about 45 minutes before we played. The organization and planning this year really sucked, they didn't have much information about times or stages posted except for the bigger bands, and the sound at our stage was terrible. But we sold about $550 worth of merch and met some cool people, and had a great response from the crowd we played to ( we had about 75 kids watching us while other bands that played our stage had maybe 20), so I guess all in all it was a good day.
serial Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Ethan-Post some pics dammit! That's pretty cool, SNAFUs with organization aside.
mykel Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 it fookin rained from four thru to the end, soaked. the only time i went to a warped tour was late 90's here in chicago. it rained the entire time (pouring down rain all the time). once i was thoroughly wet, i figured i couldn't get more wet. we left early, but did get to see pennywise, the descendents, and the mighty mighty bosstones. if the weather hadn't sucked, i would have really enjoyed it.m.
