Drum software blowouts?

First they had the no-brainer deal on Steven Slate EX for $20 on Audiomidi.com that I missed. Then when it expired I really wanted it...typical human! Now I see they've lowered the regular price down to $79 and Toontrack has EZ drummer for $99 w/ an extra expansion set. Other drum software has been reduced too.

Is their something I don't know about on the horizon, or is it just a product type at a more mature level in it's cycle?

Sonic Reality has some good drum stuff. There is a group buy going on right now for xpansion sample tank stuff that includes some drum loops. They had earlier group buys for stuff for their infinite player that I bought. I hope to use them more this summer but overall they sound rally good. They have some deals on drum stuff going on now.

For using in garageband or logic I also like the drumsondemand series.

My guess is there are some new things coming out, but aren't there always!

theres been lots of drum software blowouts lately, but honestly, I have heard only one sample kit that sounds alive - Ocean way drums. It took me some time to put ir right, but one of my demos have even fooled seasoned studio engineer asking "who's playin drums here, sounds awesome" :( Pity they cost half of airplane wing...

edited to add: I do have Slate kit too, but I found it only good for drum sound replacement (actually blending with live sound gettin more punch).

I love the plugin JAMSTIX.

Sampled drum sets are pretty dang good, but it can drive other drum samples via the "Brain".
